Largo vs Lakewood Ranch

First Half – Game started rather slow. Just 21 total points combined in the period. Both teams missed plenty of buckets and looked a bit sluggish. Towards the end of the first quarter, both teams started to hit a rhythm and looked a lot more in sync. Lakewwod Ranch kept the contest close, clawing their way to tie Largo at 15 starting quarter 3. Lakewood would do much of their damage on the paint and in transition. LWR felt good about their perimeter shooting.

Second Half – Each team threw jabs. Neither with a heavy hook. Largo would score, the Lakewood Ranch answered and vice versa. Lakewood ranch challenged Largo to hit perimeter shots by saturating the paint with a tight 2-3 zone. Largo mixed up their defensive play calls. Lakewood Ranch took off in the last period challenging Largo, creating turnovers and indecision. Took the lead with 2 minutes left in the game. Amont Deliu would have an opportunity to tie that game. Hit the first and missed the second of a one and one. 45.4 seconds left in the game and LWR Sam Hester drew a foul, missing the first of one and one. Largo’s Allen made the first and missed the second of one and one. Lane violation gave him a third shot which he missed. After a Largo time out, Allen missed a deep shot. LWR rebound and quick foul by Largo. Largo still down by 2 with 2 seconds left. Missed a half court shot and Lakewood Ranch hangs on to win.
