“We knew we were going to have trouble moving the ball,” said Lakewood Ranch Head Coach Shawn Trent.

While the Mustangs (2-2, 1-0) did have trouble moving the ball, they had no problem keeping Boca Ciega (1-2, 0-1) at bay, with a grinding ground game and a stingy defense. The Mustangs shut out the Pirates 19-0, on Friday night in a 6A District 7 contest.

Lakewood Ranch started their first drive with excellent field position at their own 46-yard line, and after three rushing plays, the Mustangs converted on 4th and 1 to keep the drive alive. That would lead to a 19-yard rushing touchdown by RB McKenzie Hathaway and the first points of the game.  FULL ARTICLE
