While the Mustangs (2-2, 1-0) did have trouble moving the ball, they had no problem keeping Boca Ciega (1-2, 0-1) at bay, with a grinding ground game and a stingy defense. The Mustangs shut out the Pirates 19-0, on Friday night in a 6A District 7 contest.
Lakewood Ranch started their first drive with excellent field position at their own 46-yard line, and after three rushing plays, the Mustangs converted on 4th and 1 to keep the drive alive.
