KNIGHTS MOVE UP IN NATIONAL POLLS

UCF is ranked 21st in Coaches Poll and 22nd in AP Poll

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Following another decisive win – defeating Cincinnati 51-23 on Saturday – the UCF football team moved up the national rankings on Sunday, climbing to 21st in the Coaches Poll and 22nd in the AP Poll.

The Knights were ranked 25th in both polls last week, the program’s first national ranking since 2013.

That season, which ended with a Fiesta Bowl victory and a final ranking of 10th in the nation, UCF did reach the 21st spot in a poll until week nine.

This season, the Knights have started 4-0 with wins over FIU, Maryland, Memphis and Cincinnati. UCF leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 47.5 points per game and is one of just three teams in all of FBS to rank in the Top 15 in both scoring offense and scoring defense (Alabama, Washington).

A pair of American Athletic Conference opponents are also ranked this week in USF (15/18) and Navy (24/25). The Knights play at Navy on Oct. 21 and host USF on Nov. 24.

UCF will next turn its attention to homecoming, and hosting ECU on Saturday at Spectrum Stadium. The Knights and the Pirates are scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff on CBS Sports Network.
