Manatee 2016 DE Kwanzi Jackson is a 2014 BCP camper. Jackson was a standout performer at the BHSN Ignite Elite Showcase in January and made a mark on our evaluators. Fast forward to the 2014 football season; Jackson is second in the state of Florida according to Maxpreps in sacks (17). Standing 6-3, around 2015 pounds, Jackson is starting to raise the eyebrows of college recruiters because of his big game performances.

In the second game of the season, Jackson posted 5 sacks and 3 QB hurries. It did not stop there. As the season progressed, the sophomore DE had 3 more games with 3 or more sacks. In addition to how well he rushes the passer, Jackson has proven that he gets around the ball with his 3 fumble recoveries and 1 caused fumble.

Watching him last week versus the Wing-T St. Petersburg offense, Jackson played pretty well taking on 1 or 2 blockers on any given play. He used his hands well, made a few disrupting plays and tackled the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage a few times. Jackson is a long prospect who could grow into a really good weak side DE or an awesome stand up outside LB because he can play in space and has great lateral movement.

Jackson currently holds one offer from Tulane. However, after we spoke with a few college recruiters prior to the St. Pete game last Friday, we expect a few more offers to roll in for Jackson before the conclusion to the 2014 football season.
