The 2015 spring season is in full swing as teams gradually stop hitting each other and begin to hit opposing teams in live action starting on Friday night. The first game of the season starts with Citrus at Countryside. The Hurricanes from Iverness finished the season at 5-5 while Countryside ended up the season at 7-3. That game will kickoff on Friday night at Countryside. The second of four area games to be played this Friday and Saturday showcases Ridgewood at Crystal River in a matchup of 2-8 squads from 2014. The third and final game on Friday night sees Sarasota’s Out-of-Door Academy at Northside Christian. Northside, led by Griffin Alstott and Josh Snead among others finished their season at 8-3 with an appearance in the playoffs last year. Out-of-Door struggled to a 2-7 record. The lone game on Saturday features two teams with much intrigue. Admiral Farragut (4-5 last season) travels to Berkeley Prep (7-4) who made an appearance in the Class 3A playoffs last season after winning their district tiebreaker versus Tampa Catholic. Make sure you check back on Thursday and Friday for previews of these games.
