Tampa Bay’s 2014 class is emerging as a highly talented class, with plenty of division 1 potential signees.

Jefferson is used to having their fair share of talented prospect and Derrick Ingram could be tops of their 2014 class.  We took a minute to get in the head of the 6-1 WR to see how he intends on approaching the 2012 season, recruiting and improving his weaknesses.

BCP: Your 1st year with a Big Role in the Jefferson offense. What should be expected?
INGRAM: Make plays. Make more plays, step up, be more of a leader.

BCP: What have you learned from the graduating class?
INGRAM: Hard work beats talent.

BCP: There are high expectations placed on the class of 2014 from the Jefferson coaching staff. Do you feel that class will compete for another state title?
INGRAM: For sure! We have talent at every position and lots of potential. All we need to do is keep coming together as a team and we can beat anyone.

BCP: What makes you different from the other Bay Area receivers?
INGRAM: Ball skills. When the ball is in the air, it’s mine.

BCP: You were not ranked in the spring BCP WR rankings. How will that change come the end of the summer? Or will it change?
INGRAM: it’s gonna change. I’m going to show out. If I make, I make it. If I don’t, I’m going to keep working.

BCP: What colleges are starting show initial recruiting interest?
INGRAM: Florida, Auburn, Michigan State and Indiana.

BCP: Would you consider yourself as an Impact player or a Role player?
INGRAM: Impact player. But I have no problem being a role player if that’s what the team needs.

BCP: What goals do you have entering the summer?
INGRAM: Get faster, gain some weight and improve on the little things.

BCP: What’s one thing about Tyriq McCord (Jefferson class of 2012 DE, Miami signee) that the general public doesn’t know?
INGRAM: SUPER GOOFY. Wants to play around all day.

BCP: If you were the captain of a pick up team, playing in the neighborhood and you had 1 pick left and had to choose between head coach, Jeremy Earle (high school and college QB) and defensive back coach, Jeremy Burnett (high school and college defensive back)…who would you pick?
INGRAM: Coach Earle, because he can still throw it. He still has a cannon.
