Hoops: Corbett starting to emerge

Chivarsky Corbett, Tampa Catholic 2014 F has progressed as a role player into a dominant force for the Crusader Basketball program. A questionable decision last year, to walk away from football and focus on basketball seems to be working out just fine for the 6-6 junior.

This season, Corbett has been a monster. Scoring 25 points per game and averaging just over 10 rebounds. He has had 11 games where he scored 20 points or more and has scored double digits every game this season. On 12/21/12 in a 105-89 win versus Cardinal Mooney, Corbett scored a school record 50 points. What was not publicized, along with the 50 points, he grabbed 10 rebounds and 5 steals.

Tuesday night, Corbett took his 417 points back on the hardwood as Berkeley Prep came to the House of the Crusaders. Corbett would score 17 points, 8 of 15 from the field, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Check it out!
