Hillsborough High Strongman Jamie Knott Signs To Attend Grambling

Grambling State University added a second Terrier in less than a week to their storied football program. Senior Jamie Knott will join Andre Gunn as a Tiger next fall.  Knott signed his letter of intent earlier today and will receive a partial scholarship.  He said he is projected to play fullback but might get on the field in single back sets.  Knott is 5′ 9″ and told me he is currently weighing in at 246 pounds.

Gunn signed his LOI with Grambling a week ago and bigcountypreps.com was there.  VIDEO

Knott said that new Grambling head coach, and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and director of pro player personnel, Doug Williams was involved in recruiting him.  Former Tampa Bay Tech head man C.C. Culpepper, now an assistant at GSU, was his primary recruiting contact.

He had received a gray-shirt offer from Florida A&M earlier this year. Knott still holds the IGNITE Combine record for bench press reps with 185 pounds, recording 35 in 2010.
