The annual Tampa Chapter National Football Foundation Awards Banquet took place last night with one of the smallest nominees winning one of the biggest awards.

George Blake took home the prestigious Sam Bailey Scholarship Award which awarded the 5-foot 5-inch offensive guard a $1,500 collegiate scholarship as well as a plaque stating his achievement of the award.

“This award was the cheery on top of the cake for high school career”, says Blake, the departing senior.

Blake has applied to several colleges and is awaiting acceptance to make his decision which school to attend.
