Kyle Gibson, Armwood 2014 safety verbally committed to Vanderbilt today. Our #3 ranked safety prospect and #12 overall prospect in the 2014 class chose the Dores over Louisville.
Gibson said, “The school is great. Love the coaches and the city and I have a real good chance at early playing time.” Gibson is the first verbal commit in our area to pledge to Vanderbilt this year. Vanderbilt has become a popular school for area recruits as they almost nabbed 5 star safety Leon McQuay in the 2013 signing class.
Gibson is a 4 year varsity starter and a head hunter. Known for jaw rattling hits from the secondary, Gibson will bring an attitude to the Dores defense in 2014. Currently he his focused on a successful senior year with the Armwood Hawks anchoring a young secondary that will improve with experience.
