PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING

Gibbs grind out slow Monday

Craig Watts, Gibbs 2016 ATH

The sun beaming, the wind at a standstill and minds wondering. It happens to every team. Every day is not always the best day. So the case at Gibbs yesterday. Head coach Rick Kravits was not particularly pleased with the lack of energy and focus at practice yesterday, but did love the outlook of his team. Practiced ended slightly early with the demand that the players return today refreshed and more focused.

The Gladiators are young with some quality players at key positions. The defense is the starting point with safety Craig Watts as the corner stone. A trio of young defensive tackles, Javon Salas, Roy Williams and Dorian Williams are the beef cakes upfront.

The next couple of years, the Gladiators have a chance to thrive if the youthfulness blossoms. From top to bottom, Gibbs has some young talent. On the offensive side of the ball the offensive line is athletic, the running back is in place, the receivers are good enough and the QB is learning. Once all the pieces of the puzzle come together, the picture looks good.
