Film Review: A few kids that jumped out

Observations of underclassmen from film submitted to us.

Keyon Walters, Tenoroc 2016 Slot/TB/KR/PR 5-9 160 – Tough player. His ability to take a big hit and keep rolling shows he has a playmaker’s attitude. His yards after contact stood out like a sore thumb on film. Walters has good game speed and does just enough in the open field to make the defense aware of his abilities.

Chauncey Smart, Auburndale 2017 CB 5-7/160 – Big Hitter! Smart loves the opportunity to slam his body into the opponent. The first minute of his film shows Smart screaming downfield trying to knock ball carriers off their feet.

Ean Biancardi, Lake Wales 2016 OT/OG/DT 6-5/280 – Runs much better than last season even with picking up some good weight. Really like how he mirrors a moving target and gets his big body to the second and third level. Has done a better job playing with a lower pad level. Plays within his frame.

Shane McGough, Gaither 2016 OL/DT 6-2/240 – The young man was on our radar already after he camped with us several times. Now, he jumps up the list after watching just a few snaps at defensive tackle. His offensive line play shows he is physical, has great feet, hip flexion and a rapid setup. Once we saw his defensive clips, it all came together. He is quick off that ball, naturally quick hands and feels the play. Got a sleeper here!

Taylor Bleistein, Wiregrass Ranch 2016 WR 5-10 /155 – Big play kid. Looked like the best option for Wiregrass passers. Made the most of each catch. Took several defenders to bring him down many times once he started up field after the catch.

William Waddell, Leon OL 6-2.5/295 – Over and over again, Waddell is jacking up defensive linemen, knocking defensive players off their feet. His upper body strength is either “unreal” or the defensive players he is knocking over are “very weak.” William also shows good initial quicks and flexibility.

Markese Hargrove, Plant City 2016 RB 5-8/160 – Hargrove shows good field vision and has pretty good anticipation. Ability to see the opening before “The opening.” He is more quick that fast. His 30 yard burst separates him from the defenders and then he makes one or two open field moves to spring for another 30 yards.

Sean Behrens, Newsome 2016 OL 6-3/280 – The first thought when watching his film, “He is blowing dudes off the ball. How much does he weigh again?” At the same time, you get caught up in the film watching Sean do the same thing each snap. Once refocused, started looking for footwork, lateral movement and pad level. All coachable improvements that are needed. But you cannot coach physical and nasty. Sean has both.
