Field Goal(s) – 3 points for District 7A-11

Teams:
Braden River
Lakewood Ranch
North Port
Palmetto
Sarasota
Venice

The cream of the crop…
What to expect? Venice’s Bryce Carpenter as a freshman QB threw for 975 yards and rushed for another 643 along with double-digit touchdowns for the Indians in 2014. Following a 5-16 record during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, the Indians have gone 75-22 since 2007. Venice will play at Plant for their fall classic and open up in Texas at 4A-1 State Quarterfinalists Stephenville week one. Wait until you see the players at Lakewood Ranch, then mosey over to Braden River and Palmetto where they can boast about two of the most-talented quarterbacks in this area in Jack Allison and Jacob Huesman.

Speaking of this QB’s…
If you’re in the area of Braden River High School on October 23rd, you’ve got ZERO excuses not to show up to see what could be two of the most impressive signal-callers in this area. Much has been made of the University of Miami Commit Jack Allison that’s got the look, the feel and the swag of a Division-1 quarterback. Braden River’s Jacob Huesman might be one of the best players the Bay Area NEEDS to know about. He’s 6-2/202, sports a 4.4 GPA, bench presses 260lbs and squats 345-pounds. He also led the Pirates to a district title last season and throwing for 2,000 yards including a 309-yard performance against Palmetto with the district title on the line. Do yourself a favor and check this game out.

Here’s your name tag; get to know them well…
This is a district that’s got some crossover with Hillsborough/Pinellas/Pasco teams this season and that trend won’t stop anytime soon with the districts being aligned with one another in the postseason. Venice is playing at Plant for their fall classic, while Braden River will make the trek up to River Ridge week zero. Sarasota plays at Berkeley Prep week zero and Lakewood Ranch will host Jesuit, Tampa Catholic and Sunlake during the regular season. With the southern reaches of the Tampa/St.Pete metro areas rapidly approaching a mesh status with the Bradenton-Sarasota area you should probably keep up to speed with these teams as much as we will in the coming years.
