This should be fun…
The five teams in this district went a combined 39-17 in 2014 when you add the newcomers St. Petersburg to the fold and three of them were playoff teams in 2014 as well. Eighty-percent of this district finished a minimum of four games over .500 and all five can boast they have legit D-1 prospects on their rosters so Pinellas County is in for a treat when this district gets cranked up.

Save the dates…
September 18th sees the first primetime match-up take place in this district when East Lake travels to face St. Pete. The Eagles have won the last two meetings by a combined score of 87-14, but East Lake put up numbers like that on virtually every team with the stars they’ve had the last cycle. Before a break in 2011 and 2012, the two teams went 3-3 versus each other. On October 2nd, Countryside and Pinellas Park will link up in a never-too-early-to-call-it-must-win situation at the home of the Patriots. The Cougars lead this series 4-2 since 2005, but it’s P-Park that’s won the last two meetings. In a styles-make-fights match-up on the 16th of October, Pinellas Park and St.Pete will go at it with the Green Devils leading that series 5-3 since 2005, but with P-Park also winning the last two in this one. The biggest weekend all-around will see St. Pete travel to Countryside in a series dominated by C’Side 6-0 in the last decade, but the two teams have only played twice in the last six seasons. That same weekend is East Lake hosting Pinellas Park that’s decided the postseason order in the district the last two seasons. Countryside ravels to East Lake the last weekend of the season in game that was 10-8 to the Eagles last season, but the Cougars lead the series overall 6-4 (or 7-3 on the field since in 2012 the Cougars were forced to forfeit a 27-14 victory.)

What you did there, we see it…
It’s about the process if you’re East Lake and if you need preparation for a specific offense like St. Pete’s Wing-T you might not be able to find it around these parts and make it work on your schedule. This season the stars have aligned and Lake Brantley from Altamonte Springs makes their way down the I-4 corridor on 9/11 to face East Lake. The catch? They return three-1,000 yard rushers and run a pretty mean triple option led by RB Trace Christian. Perhaps the Eagles aren’t the juggernaut they’ve been on paper that they’ve been in recent seasons, but this team is plenty loaded and even though their hands will be full against Brantley all of that “experience” in week three could lead to great success though come week four if it all goes according to plan.
