PASCO COUNTY

Drought warning: Pasco County teams without a district title

Five teams in Pasco County have yet to make their mark in county history and bring home a district championship. One of the teams on this list has been a model of consistency and could make a run at a title in 2015, while the others may have to wait their turn a little while longer. Here are the five teams without a district title in Pasco.

Bishop McLaughlin – The Hurricanes were established as a program in 2003 and have gone 39-61 in that span, but things are looking up and confidence is renewed with a new coaching staff and a pretty good QB to get the ball down the field to their playmakers.

Fivay – The Falcons achieved some early success under Chris Taylor, but have hit some bumps in the road the past few seasons. They made the playoffs in 2011 as district runners-up and then lost in a tiebreaker in 2012.

Gulf – The Bucs made the playoffs as district runners-up to River Ridge last season for just the third time since 1947, but still no title to their credit.

Mitchell – The Mustangs also made the playoffs as runners-up to Sunlake last season and have had only one losing season in the past decade posting a 63-48 record in the process. A district title has eluded them to this point, but could one be coming sooner rather than later?

Ridgewood – Rams are in a tough stretch not having achieved a winning season since 2008.
