Evaluation on Donnell Taylor
Plays with a high motor and transitions very well from pass coverage to run support. Will be very interesting to watch him develop. One to watch at a sleeper school.

FEARLESS
“What makes me a threat to who ever lines up against me, no matter how big, how tall, how fast, I stay to my game, stay to my assignments and get my job DONE!” Taylor has the mentality a college coach wants in a cornerback prospect. The attitude that the job will get done no matter the assignment. Relatively an unknown prospect, Taylor has big time potential. Runs extremely well, loose hips and great transition.
FINISHING
“Us Lions have been focusing on three key elements since the end of 2013 season. Of course getting bigger/stronger and faster during our off season. But most importantly we are focusing on FINISHING! All games we enter in 2014 we are not holding anything back and playing four quarters of football.” King finished the 2012 season 2-8, with three loses by 14 points or less. As Taylor pointed out, “Finishing” will help the Lions win more ball games in 2013.
MORE MENTAL
“I’m improving on being smarter in the classroom and on the field. Being wiser on the field will take my game to a level that most high school prospects do not have. The game is only 20% physical and 80% mental.” Donnell elaborated on his off season work. A good athlete who becomes a student of the game has a higher chance of making more plans.
9 ROUTE
“My whole team and I have been training hard for this tournament. I’m looking forward to putting King on the map, letting everyone know King is not the team to slack on. Yes we are small but we will be the most athletic team out there. Looking forward to every team King has to play. It’s DEFENSE FIRST and whoever our opponents’ number one receiver is, it’s me and him one on one!”
I think that just about does it!
