1. CCC deserves respect. Yes, Palm Harbor has not beaten a team with a winning record but they are an 8A school with a good coaching staff and a really good QB. CCC manhandled them and wore them down as well. On the scoreboard CCC lost to East Lake but keeping it in perspective they were 1 play away from being 2-0 against 8A competition.

2. East Lake has under achieved. Should we have expected them to lose to the 2B reigning champ and to rival Countryside? In my mind yes but the pundits from all over thought this team was a legit contender in 8A even being ranked in the 1st few weeks of the AP Poll. Even with all that said they are the front runner for their district.

3. Lakewood still without Dante Fowler beats up on Dunedin. The big district games are coming up and one must wonder will Dante be back to help his team and will the Lakewood offensive machine continue its dominance. At this point you have to look at them as a contender to unseat Jesuit as the district favorite.

4. Boca Ciega, losing 19-0 to their district foe, Lakewood Ranch was a big shocker to me. It will be interesting to see how that district shapes out going forward with Largo, Lakewood Ranch and Tarpon all with questions marks. As it stands now, Largo for the title and the other 3 are going to meet in a district tie breaker. This is all speculation on my behalf.

5. Big game for me this week is non district East Lake vs. Largo. I expect Largo to handle East Lake
