Chamberlain’s Mayo leaves for college gig

After one season, establishing his way and restoring the Chamberlain attitude, Dedrick Mayo leaves Chamberlain to coach quarterbacks at Warner University. “I am fortunate for the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level, but will miss the kids. It was not my plan to pursue the collage ranks so soon and it was unfortunate how it went down,” says Mayo. The decision to move forward and away from Chamberlain was not due to the programs performance.

Prior to Mayo, the Chiefs were 5-25 in three seasons under Joe Severino. Mayo’s team won 4 games in 2012 (4-6) and just missed the playoffs. Since the retirement of Billy Turner in 2008, Chamberlain will have hired 3 new head coaches and have not won 10 games in that span. Chiefs were 11-2 in 2008 under Billy Turner.
