AROUND THE STATE RECRUITING

CARR DRIVING TOWARDS “THE CUP”

“My motivation is to go ball-out on the football field…”

ORLANDO, MAR. 1, 2018 – Orlando Christian Prep, home of the Warriors and home to driven and focused play-makers, such as 5’9” 163-pound running back and corner back Jalen Carr. But, his skill-set doesn’t stop there.

Jalen returned a kick for 85 yards, to the house and Maxpreps also states, Carr made 6 extra-point kicks and one field goal! There’s no argument that Jalen can definitely play both sides of the ball for his team, and after finishing with a record of 6-4, entering his final season, he means serious business.

“My motivation is to go ball-out on the football field, whether it’s at RB/DB or special teams, just to show scouts and others I’m capable of playing at a high level,” Carr stated.

“My teammates help me to become a leader on and off the field, and push harder in the weight room. I’ve been wanting a championship since 9th grade, no doubt we’re going to make it happen this year, and I can just feel us holding up the trophy and taking it back home where it belongs at Orlando Christian Prep.” True leader mentality and determination coming from this young, hungry, and talented athlete.

Going back to this past junior season, Jalen totaled 554 rushing yards on 60 carries with 61.6 rushing yards per game and a whopping 12 total touchdowns- 9 rushing.

His best performance perhaps came against Christ’s Church Academy, in a 46-0 blowout win with 6 carries for 90 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 15 yards per carry! Scoring 87 of his teams’ total points and 706 all-purpose yards on the year, there’s no questioning his flexibility at his assignments.

Using his hands, Carr tallied 67 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on just 8 receptions. On the defensive end, Jalen added to his impressive stat-line with 1 interception in another 27-0 blowout win at Master’s Academy, and a field goal block against Christ’s Church Academy.

He wrapped up the year executing 28 total tackles, 23 solo and 5 assisted, topping it off with 3 tackles for a loss.

“I have progressed in ways such as my speed, my ability to cut-and-go, and being patient to read off my offensive lines blocks. I’ve been preparing for my senior season by training 3 times a week with Boris Jackson at Speedplus Sports, he tests me to my limits and supports my goals of receiving an offer.”

From running to catching to kicking, you name it, this star player does it all, and his versatility speaks with his numbers.

Word of advice, watch out for Jalen Carr and Orlando Christian Prep this year, because they’re coming for that cup!
