Breakdown MVPs
Left to Right David Jones, RJ Palmer, Domani Davis, Johnathan Bryant, Neilon Joslyn

5 MVPs

David Jones, 2016 Leto PG 6-1/165 – This dude is starting to come into his own. Yesterday he showed speed and quickness to push the ball in transition and get the ball deep into the paint. Whether he was scoring in the paint or outside the paint, Jones was usually the best player on the court and creating opportunities for everyone on the floor. Skilled ball handler with a scorer mentality.

Domani Davis, 2015 Hillsborough SG 5-10/150 – Crafty ball handler. Got others involved and also looked for his own scoring opportunities. Loose player, very confident in his abilities to dribble and pass the ball. Ran the show in the open court and used his court vision to find scorers.

Jonathan Bryant II, 2017 Oaklleaf SG 6-4/200 – Was able to score different ways. Tough to the basket and very smooth from the perimeter. Runs the floor well, able to streak the length of the court on the break. Animal in the paint and takes the ball to the rack violently.

Neilon Joslyn, 2016 East Lake SG 6-3/160 – Where did this guy come from? May have been the biggest surprise in the gym. Coaches and scouts whispered his name each time he was on the court. Springs, gets off the ground in hurry and handles the ball like a point guard. The kid can sky after he slithers through the defense.

RJ Palmer, 2015 Wharton SG 6-6/195 – Second time around and looked much more dominant. Outside his ability to score and finish at the rim, Palmer was a monster on the boards. Took rebounds off the glass and ran the floor for the reward at the end. Loved how he moved without the ball and was aggressive to the rim. Didn’t settle for the perimeter shot.

5 Who Pushed the MVPs

Charles Isaac, 2015 Blake SF 6-3/195 – Scrapper, hustler, raw ball player. Charles would be the first player any captain picked during a pick up game at the park. Made the plays most players didn’t want to make. Grabbed the tough rebounds for easy garbage points, banged in the paint and showed grit!

Stefan Kitchen, 2015 Grace Christian PG 6-3/173 – The kid just keeps getting better. This time he was much more explosive. Wanted to score. Wanted to make the tough bucket. Wanted to go back and forth with the best player on the opposing team. Showed a complete game.

Peyton Wilson, 2015 Tampa Bay Tech PF 6-6/185 – If everything lines up with this kid in the classroom, test score and character, he could have a chance. He has the size and ability. He showed it yesterday. Most impressive was his ability to put the ball in the hole from outside the paint.

Johnny Lampkin, 2016 Brooke Debartolo PG 6-2/180 – Johnny looked slightly taller and stronger. He had a great showcase this fall. This spring, the competition was a little better and Lampkin rose to the occasion. He shot the ball well enough to keep the defense honest.

Tyler White, 2017 Durant PG 6-1/175 – One of the best ball handlers at the camp. Ball handling skills to run a team on the fast break or half court. Surprising good one on one skills. Rocked a few kids…nasty!

5 Names Circled

Eddie Graham, 2016 Fivay PG 5-9/150 – Didn’t see him coming. Would have never guessed his hoop game was so smooth. Good decision maker and able to finish at the cup.

Erick Hernandez, 2016 Durant PG 5-9/140 – He would have to be Top 3 in the ball handling category at the camp. Sweet feet and thinks quickly. Seldom did he get into bad predicaments.

Bryce Moragne, 2017 Hillsborough SG 6-3/180 – “Houston…We have a problem” and he is only going to get taller and quicker. Loved this kid. Fluid movements and showed lots of control at such a young age.

Thierry Moliere, 2018 Jesuit SG 6-0/190 – Do not let this kid go unnoticed. Slippery, quick guard. Got other involved and created all camp for others and himself.

Tyrese Williams, 2018 Spoto PF 6-4/164 – Young boy was aggressive yesterday. We watched him each time he hit the court and showed flashes. Ceiling is sky high and development has not even scratched the surface.
