RECRUITING RECRUITING FEATURES

Boca’s Brinson has a busy next few weeks

Damarius Brinson

Damarius Brinson, Boca Ciega 2013 DB posted 495 receiving yards, 23 receptions, 1 receiving td, 44 tackles 6 ints, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery td. Regarded as one of the top CBs in Pinellas County. Recruiting has really picked up for him, with plans of visiting Charleston Southern this weekend and then Youngstown State on the 25th. No plans yet for Feb 1st weekend currently.

Brinson holds offers from: Tennessee-Chattanooga, Youngstown St., Coastal Carolina, South Dakota St., Charleston Southern and UMASS. On his visits he says he will really be paying attention to the school environment as a whole and the football staff, “Nice school, nice facilities, great coaches and a nice city. Somewhere I’d want to be when I’m away from home”.

He felt he improved tremendously since his junior season understanding the game and technique. “I think I just began to play the game faster. I became more focused. I worked on things that colleges were looking for. I loosened my hips and improved my hands and I became a defensive leader. My junior year I was the only underclassmen in the secondary so I just kinda learned from everyones mistakes then and I began to work against college level receivers to build up my coverage skills and I took on the best receiver every week no matter who , which I feel separates me from a lot of corners in High school”.

Brinson is a player who can play several different position in the secondary. He will be a good fit in either a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme, “It doesn’t matter,” says Brinson. “I think I’ll succeed in any defensive scheme. I can pretty much pick up any defense”.
