Charles Coney, Tampa Bay Tech 2023 QB – We have seen Coney a few times. Great frame, good looking prospect, well put together. Charles had a good day. Showed good arm strength especially on the move. We think he’ll be able to make plays off schedule. We would like to see him toss a tight spiral more consistently. But, those mechanics can be cleaned up. He’s interesting. When his opportunity arises this season, he’ll need to ball out and create some great film for himself to grab the attention of college coaches.
Griffin Wiltse, Steinbrenner 2022 QB – Coming off an injury, Steinbrenner should be in good hands if Griffin is the starter. Big arm, commands attention and can throw the route tree well. We are attracted to his delivery, timing, and fairly quick release.
Jackson Rivera, Zephyrhills 2022 QB – Don’t count out Zephyrhills too early. Traditionally blessed with talent, the Dogs have a good passer behind center. We have seen Jackson before. However, we expect kids to improve each time we evaluate them. Rivera is doing that consistently. Quick-release and smooth delivery, Jackson should really thrive in the Bulldog offense this year which is designed to get the ball out of the QB’s hands quickly. He has good arm talent and can throw open receivers.
Owen Walls, Cypress Creek 2022 QB – Good things happening at “The Creek.” The Coyotes are attracting quality players and grooming the ones already walking their hallways. Attention on senior Owen Walls. Now a veteran player, Walls is coming into his own. We clearly observed he is now tossing the deep ball better than before. The maturation process and weight room gains have increased his upper body strength. His confidence level has elevated. He performed as if he was the best quarterback in the crop and you wouldn’t be able to tell him otherwise.
Aaron Turner, Seffner Christian 2024 QB – There was once a time when people didn’t even know Seffner Christian existed. Now, with a good number of playoff games, several successful seasons under their belt, and numerous talented players passing through the program, SCA is on the map. With success, comes competition. The QB is prime. One player in the running is Aaron Turner. Big arm, quick feet, and mobile. He is improving with his ball location and accuracy. Keep an eye on this Crusader.
