Artavis Scott: The top 2014 prospect commits to Clemson

Artavis Scott (Blue) at 2012 BHSN 9 Route 7v7

Over the past 3 seasons, we have been fortunate to be evaluators and spectators of some of the best players the nation has to offer. This side of Central Florida has had their fair share of special, top level prospects and today another made his verbal commitment to the college of his choice.

East Lake 2014 WR, Artavis Scott verbally committed to today while in Oregon, competing at Nike’s Elite competition, The Opening. Scott pledged his services to Clemson. Michigan, Central Florida and Florida were the remaining of the top 4, but Scott jumped off the popular track and wants to claim Clemson as his college home.

Just last weekend, Artavis Scott was a key contributor to the National Championship Team Tampa 7v7 team. Just unstoppable this past week as Team Tampa repeat championship performance. His routes were crisp and hands sticky. He rose to the occasion when ever his team needed a play. His energy spread and Team Tampa got going on the back of their best player. He beat defenders deep and he ate them up short. The best teams had trouble keeping him out the end zone. Artavis Scott showed why he is a top prospect.

Scott’s Resume’
#1 ranked prospect in the class of 2014
#2 ranked WR prospect in all classes
2 time All BCP Selection
3 time Fire 79 ranked
2 time Ignite Showcase WR MVP

East Lake has thrived on the leadership and marksmanship of former Eagle QB, Pete Dinovo. Scott was his safety net since the 2010 season. The relationship and trust excelled Scott’s opportunities and elevated his numbers, putting him in the recruiting spotlight early in his sophomore season.

Prior to his sophomore year, he accumulated a few offseason honors and awards including BHSN Ignite Showcase WR MVP. Ended his sophomore season with 54 receptions for 1158 yards tops the Bay Area! Again, won MVP WR honors at the Ignite Showcase prior to his junior season and capped off a great year with 995 yards, 10 TDs on 64 receptions (missing a few games due to injury).

He is skillful, aggressive, talented, productive and now he is a Clemson verbal commit. Scott becomes the second national verbal commit from East Lake. Offensive Tackle, Mason Cole verbally committed to Michigan in late February of this year.
