Andrew Matyk visited the University of South Carolina on Nov. 19 when the Gamecocks played Citadel. Matyk spent a lot of time with South Carolina quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus, touring the campus on Sunday and talking all things football.

He left Columbia feeling that South Carolina had a lot of interest in him because he spent more time with coach Mangus than he had any other coach during his other visits.

This past weekend Matyk visited Florida Atlantic University.

“[FAU] is going through a lot of changes so it was hard to tell what it will be like next year with a new coach, new staff and lots of coaching changes,” he said, “but the stadium is top notch.”

Only a junior Matyk is still waiting for his first offer, but seems confident that they will come. He is spending a lot of time in the gym and says the only thing different between now and the regular season, for him, is that he isn’t suiting up on Friday nights.

The work won’t quit as the offseason progresses either.

“Hopefully I’m going to hit up a lot of camps this summer and get a couple offers,” Matyk said.
