RECRUITING RECRUITING FEATURES

A few players that could SPARK this off season

Every time we name a selected amount of kids, there is always going to be two or three people who don’t read this introduction and will say “What about Joe Blow and Johnny Snow”?  For starters, we have over 400 prospects evaluated.  Below are 10.  So, because we are naming 10, does not mean we don’t feel the same about many others.

With that stated, the prospects listed below are a few players who could enter the 2013 football season more attractive to college recruiters and scouts after a strong off season and promotion.

Tony Jones St. Pete Catholic Pinellas RB 2016 5-10 175

Along with teammate RB Jacquan Fuller, the Barons have a tandem of tailbacks that will attempt to be just as productive or more productive than departing senior RB Ryan Green was over his career.  Jones is a long striding RB with good vision and body control.  Really like the way he pulls away from defenders in the open field.

Tavares Chase Plant City Hillsborough WR 2016 6-1 160

After a breakout freshman season leading the team as a freshman with 19 grabs 466 yards receiving and 24.53 average per catch.  Chase has the “It” factor.  He does not just make the catch, he wants to make the catch and gain the “Y.A.C.”.  He shows extreme competitiveness and athleticism.

Tajee Fullwood Tampa Bay Tech Hillsborough ATH 2014 6’2 180

Corners have a high premium.  Tall corners are even more attractive.  Tall corners, who can run and cover…now we are talking major BCS prospects.  Fullwood does not have the big name and does not have either of the Big 3 sniffing around about him…YET?  They may come! Long arms, rangy, ball skills, speed and defensive football savvy.

Scott Patchan Freedom Hillsborough DE 2015 6-3 200

One of three 2013 Ignite defensive linemen MVPs, Patchan is not trying to be the next Patchan, but be the best Patchan.  Speed, developing pass rush moves and aggressive.

Ricky Thomas Jr Countryside Pinellas DE 2015 6-2 200

Mike Love, took most of the defensive headlines for the Cougar defense.  Depart Love and insert Thomas as “That Guy” for Cougar defense.  5 sacks and 20 tackles last year, partly due to his quick first step and natural shoulder lean.

Raheem Harvey Largo Pinellas WR 2014 6-1 175

The name is out there, but not on fire just yet.  Largo is stacked with talent once again and one of the biggest names headlining the bunch is 6-1 WR Raheem Harvey.  What we really love is how he adjust to the ball which displays body control and concentration. Good speed, great hands and big body could make him a great grab.

Justus Reed Clearwater Central Cath. Pinellas DE 2014 6-3 200

The argument is on the table.  Is Justus Reed the top DE in Tampa Bay this year? The question alone lets you know how good we THINK he can be.

Josh Black Sickles Hillsborough LB 2014 6-1 210

If Josh Black moves to inside line backer, it could tremendously raise his recruiting stock.  He will likely be undersized to play with the big boys as a defensive end.  However he could match up nicely as a backer.  Speed, instinct, skill and aggression makes him a players who could “Spark” this off season.

Jonathan Thomas Nature Coast Tech Hernando WR 2015 6-3 185

Arguably the best college prospect on his team.  No argument, the best WR in Hernando County.  Would like to make the argument that he could be a top 5 WR in Tampa Bay.  6-3 and a bunch of skill to match his size.

Jeremiah Jackson Hernando High School Hernando ILB 2014 6-0 210

LBs are easy to evaluate.  They are similar to RBs.  You either have it or you don’t.  “See ball, detach ball from ball carrier”.  What Jackson does really well…does not use wasted steps and finds his way through traffic.  He looks great in pads and has a strong lower frame.
