Hillsborough and Pinellas Represented Well In Various Polls

Todd Macon and Admiral Farragut are rated #4 in the 2A State Poll according to Max Preps

It’s Week 8 and some local teams specifically from Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties are showing the rest of the State of Florida that this area can go as deep as anywhere else on the Peninsula. A total of 20 teams from the 2 counties made it into MaxPreps’ Top 25 Rankings that are used to predict the playoff races divided up among the six classifications that the schools represent. The class with the most representation was in 2A with 6 teams (all from the same district 5-2A) making the list. There was also a high number of teams from both counties on the Pinkos Power Ratings, a weekly statistical ranking system used throughout the state as well. The teams that represented Hillsborough and Pinellas in the MaxPreps Rankings are listed:

6. Canterbury
14. Indian Rocks Christian
16. Cambridge Christian
20. Keswick Christian
21. Carrollwood Day

3A:
3. Berkeley Prep
10. Tampa Catholic
12. Clearwater Central Catholic

5A:
12. Jesuit
19. Robinson
24. Lakewood

6A:
1. Armwood
7. Hillsborough
14. Largo
18. Sickles

7A:
11. Plant City
12. Countryside

8A:
2. Plant

Both Hillsborough and Plant made the Top 10 in their respective Max Preps Rankings

In the Pinkos Power Ratings, Armwood checked-in at #7 in the “Florida’s Power 25” while Plant registered at #12. The two teams play each other October 28th. Specifically within the Top 10 of the different classes, Plant and Armwood both came in at #2 in the 8A and 6A Power Polls respectively while Largo made an appearance at #10 in the 6A Poll. Jesuit chimed in at #5 in 5A, while Berkeley Prep is ranked #3 in the 3A Classification according to Pinkos.
