HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

Seffner Christian’s Justin Stubbs a Top 2020 Playmaker?

Seffner, June 21, 2018 – Two-sport athlete and player, junior, Justin Stubbs may be the light in the dark tunnel the Crusaders need to spark their offense this year coming off a highly productive 2017 sophomore campaign individually; despite the disheartening 1-8 overall season record.

Being the tweener talent he is, he’s always on the run, playing both soccer and football. Frame wise, listed at 5’8” 160 pounds he’s a little undersized at his respected RB and CB positions but obviously fits the quota and in no way has he let that undermine his successes.

He has an unquestionable set of wheels under him, always fighting for those extra yards, bobbing and weaving in traffic and witty awareness- he’ll kill you in small yardage increments down after down while still keeping the defense on their toes once he breaks through the gaps.

Last year in 9 games, Stubbs put on a rushing clinic, racking up 752 total yards on 161 carries, averaged nearly half a first down at 4.7 YPC, accumulated two 100+ yard games, and 5 scores to show for.

His top performance surfaced against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic in a 42-9 win in which he ran for 112 yards on just 12 touches, averaging 9.3 YPC! Or perhaps verse Orlando Christian Prep, posting 202 yards on 33 carries and taking one to the house- even in a semi-close 21-35 loss, he never quits at keeping those legs turning and burning.

Defensively, he backed his secondary up with 26 total tackles; 12 solo and 14 assisted, had 1 interception and recovered a fumble, averaging 2.9 tackles per game.

In a nutshell, clearly, rising star Justin Stubbs has everything it takes and some to do his assigned tasks effectively on both the soccer pitch and football gridiron, performing at a high level and he’s due for a breakout 2018 junior year; fully capable of shattering the 1,000-yard mark in the near future so keep this 2020 back on your radars folks!
