Calvary Christian has not started the season according to plan. The Warriors are 0-5 headed into a big district game versus Cardinal Mooney. Calvary is allowing 35 points per game to opponent this season and not scoring the equivalent or greater.
However, the kids are playing hard and the leader of the pack has been 2017 QB Richie Mize. Head football coach Todd Yoder calls him “My best player this year.”
His stats so far through 5 games: Rushing- 63 carries for 336 yards, 2 TDs rushing. Passing – 72 of 140 for 949 yards and 5 TDs. “My whole offense goes around this guy” says Coach Yoder.
“The player that has played the best against us is #23 Ben Sirmons from Lakeland Christian.” Versus Calvary Ben rushed 12 times for 232 yards, averaged 19.3 yards per carry and scored 3 rushing TDs.
