Durant’s Davis points to Improvements and Teammates

Kensey Davis, Durant

Kensey Davis, Durant 2015 OL

BCP: Where have you improved since the conclusion of your 2013 season?
Davis: Strength and footwork
– Davis admits, to be a good offensive lineman, he had to improve his total body strength and get quicker with his footwork. Davis is an interior offensive line prospect. However, he will need to play tackle for the Cougars this season. Good footwork is highly important.

BCP: What area of your game needs the most improvement before the 2014 season?
Davis: Pass protection, kick step, post step
– Durant will likely pass the ball more than they have in the past. A really good “pass protecting” Davis will make play calling much easier on the offensive coordinator.

BCP: Which teammate has taught you the most since you have been at your new school?
Davis: Joe Williamson and Garret Rentz
– Both veteran tight ends are really good college prospects and even better high school teammates. Durant coaches rave about their attitudes and leadership.

BCP: What colleges are showing recruiting interest?
Davis: Mainly South Florida and Florida Atlantic.

BCP: What has the off-season showcase circuit taught you?
Davis: It’s taught me that it’s just a mental process. Since Big County Preps/BHSN Ignite Showcase, the more mentally stronger I get the easier these things go. The more I think I can block him or I’m the best, the easier things go it’s given me a challenge to be the best.
