Playing Ability: Arguably thee top point guard in Hillsborough County, Caelen has a legit argument as to why he was mentioned as one of the nominees for the Hillsborough County Player of the Year. Coming into his Senior Year he had already scored 1145 points and has become the All-Time Leading Scorer in Lennard High School Boys Basketball History with over 1600 points. He is one part of the Lennard High School “Dynamic Duo” backcourt, one of the most dangerous backcourts in Hillsborough County. He is a quick and nimble combo point guard/shooting guard that completely fills the stat sheet offensively and defensively. Watts averages 18.3ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.2 apg, 3.2 spg, 0.4 bpg a game and is deadly from beyond the arc, mid-range and on the fast break.

Caelen has a knack for scoring and has been in the Top 10 for scoring in Hillsborough County his entire high school career. He is always the focus of the opposing teams’ defensive game plan, has seen plenty of Box-in-Ones and still managed to lead his team to victory while again, filling up the stat sheet. He has been a backbone to the program since he arrived and is one of the main reasons for the emergence of the Lennard High School program, it’s success and why the Longhorns had the best season in the program’s short history.

Lennard, only in their 8th year, won their first ever District Championship, Regional Championship and appeared in their first ever FINAL FOUR State Semifinal Game in Lakeland.

Team Play: Caelen is the consummate team player. He cares only about winning and does not care who scores or how it is done as long as the team prevails. Watts is a silent leader, who leads by example and gets along with his teammates. Players use him as go between and liaison between myself and them. Additionally, his teammates view Watts as a friend and teammate that they all can vent and confide in.

Attitude: Although he is the ultimate competitor Caelen is never rattled and always even-keel. Watts is always smiling, grinning, laughing, upbeat and jovial. His overall demeanor is happy. He is never down and makes everyone laugh or smile. His personality is what makes him a natural draw whether you know him or not.

Character: A favorite among his peers and teachers, Caelen is a great kid who is held in the highest regard among his peers and teachers. He has never had a cross word said about him, always does what’s right and is the definition of humility. His humble nature even with all the accolades is why it is no surprise he is a favorite among all of his peers and teachers.
