Receivers

Artavis Scott, East Lake, ’14, WR – The MVP of the Wide Receivers is just a youngster.  Scary to think what he will become in a few seasons.  He can cut, spin, accelerate, explode and change directions.  He owned the 2013 and 2014 DB’s during 1 on 1 drills and impressed enough to compete with the 2012 group.  He produced solid combine results; 4.56 pro shuttle, 32.1ft med ball toss and 30.5 vertical jump.  Just remember the name!

LaMarlin Wiggins, Plant City, ’12, WR – If he is not on your list now, he should be.  One of the most electric playmakers of the day.  He is shifty and rangy, which is a rare combination.  Large 6’6” frame with a 6’5” wingspan.  Wiggins broke ankles and took names.  He has a very strong set of hands and is able to locate the ball in the air.  BCS caliber WR.

Aaron Jenkins, Jefferson, ’13, WR – The younger of the Jefferson Jenkins boys, has the tools to be a big name in the state of Florida.  He mad a few spectacular plays during 1 on 1s and has a long reach (6’7” wingspan).  He gets of the ground relatively fast and has good explosion (9ft broad jump, 31.5in vertical jump).  Measuring at 6’3”, 195lbs; Jenkins has the ability to be a big time receiver.

Chris Murray, King, ’12, WR – Not 6ft, doesn’t run a 4.3 forty yard dash, but I bet you can’t cover him or catch him.  Murray is an excellent route runner with superb speed.  Clocking a 4.54 handheld forty yard dash, 6.6 3 cone and 4.59 pro shuttle, Murray has feet and quickness.  He is very shifty with a low center of gravity and is able to burst in any direction.  Can be a great D1 slot receiver.

Travis Johnson, Jesuit, ’13, WR/TE – The TE MVP worked at both WR and TE.  Mild-mannered off the field, but an absolute beast on.  He uses his hands very well to get of the line vs. press coverage and with his 6’3, 216lbs frame he towers over smaller defensive backs.  Runs great routes to be so big and is able to change directions (4.5 pro shuttle).  If he grows into his frame, he could be a big time TE, but run well enough to play on the perimeter.
