21.5 PPG: Ingram preparing for another solid season

Keshawn Ingram, Steinbrenner

Steinbrenner is “looking up.” The Warrior’s athletic program is improving each year as the school ages. This year, the basketball team ended the season on a high note. Posting a 13-11 record, the best in school history. One big reason the Warriors excelled on the hardwood, because of 2014 guard, Keshaun Ingram.

Ingram was a 2013 BCP/BAH ALL HOOPS SELECTION. He averaged 21.5 PPG, 4 APG and 3 RPG on his way to a second team selection. After a really good 2012-13 season, Ingram is preparing for an even better senior campaign. “I have been working on my dribbling, vertical, shooting and my footwork.”

He admits he has a weakness to his game and is on the court to make it a strength. “I’m trying to improve my dribbling by doing 15 minutes of straight ball handling drills before my workout and after.” He knows he has to put in extra work to be better than the next guard.

In 14 games last season, he scored 20 or more points. In 9 games last season, he shot 50% of better from the field. In 8 games last season, Ingram dished out 5 or more assist. His game was pretty good statistically, but there is room for improvement.

What recruiting interest are you receiving now?
Lenoir-Rhyne, Birmingham Southern, Tusculum College are all showing Ingram adequate recruiting attention. He is a Hillsborough  County top returner scorer and talented prospect.

The Warriors are expected to compete again next season. Their district has changed slightly and the competition will be just as fierce. If the Warriors want to make a run in 2013-14, they will need to lean on the play of their back-court. “We’re going to have good guard play and one good big man,” says Keshaun.
