I spoke with an area head football coach recently and he told be about a bunch of his college prospects. Played down this freshman a little. Said he had a ton of potential, but didn’t want him getting a bunch of press in order to keep his head screwed on straight as a young player. Coach said he is fast, shifty and eventually would be one of the highest recruited players to come out of his program.
Well, coach was right. At least in my opinion. After his first game as a varsity football player, it is extremely easy to see why coach wants to keep this kid grounded. I can say all the things he does well. I can list his speed, talk up his feet and hips, I can even create a top 2017 prospect list with him at the top. However, college coaches have to see for themselves.
One college coach told me, “We only offer SURE FIRE freshman prospects.” This kid will make that short list!
