2014 Tight Ends to keep an eye on

The tight end position is making a comeback. At the sometime, it is evolving. College teams are looking for the TE whom does not have to come off the field on third down, because he is a legitimate passing threat and can stretch the defense. They also want the TE who block downhill on first down. Here are a few 2014 tight ends that can fit that mold.

Marcus Mosley, Alonso
Deadly streaking down the middle third of the field. Mosley runs like wide receiver and has long arms to help neutralize defensive ends and/or rushing line backers. He is our top TE in our coverage area, because he can split a defense, take a five yard hitch for 60 yards and a dangerous red zone threat.

Davi’on Riley, Lake Wales
Similar style player as Mosley. Good speed and growing body. Makes for a difficult match up for smaller defensive backs and slower, less agile line backers. Blocks well on the edge and can make tacklers miss in the open field.

Chet Levay, Sickles
Levay needs the ball more. The more plays he makes, the more his confidence will grow and the more dominant he will be. He is an athletic TE, with long arms and good at the point of attack.

Dillon Zettwuch, East Lake
The Zett ain’t bad. Actually he is pretty good. Sure handed and trusting player. Very good procession receiver.

Richard Cobb, Frostproof
Vicious up front blocker. Plays very unselfishly and looks like he would rather make a solid edge block than catch passes. Physical player and athletic build. Could have a big year.

Landon Galloway, Plant City
If Landon locks in a TE, he could be one of the best in the area. To his credit, he had to play multiple positions over the years for Plant City and could never knuckle down at TE. But if he did, things could start happening (recruiting) for the 2014 Raider. Great hand/eye coordination, body control and strong runner.
