Reed Commits to Gators

Justus Reed, Clearwater Central Catholic

Justus Reed, Clearwater Central Catholic 2014 DE has verbally committed to the University of Florida. Our #1 defensive end prospect and #6 prospect overall in the 2014 class, becomes the first area commit to pledge to the Gators in the 2014 class.

Prior to the 2014 calendar year, Justus was pretty much an unknown stud prospect. Playing at a program which has struggled the past few years to produce winning seasons, not much recruiting traffic was walking the halls at Clearwater High School. Sunshine Preps produced a great film and BCP helped promote Reed and his recruitment took off.

In that time, Reed also transferred from Clearwater to Clearwater Central Catholic. He is comparable to 2013 Gator signee Jordan Sherit from Hillsborough High.
– turns the corner well
– great range
– long arms
– variety of rush moves
– uses hands well

Reed holds verbal offers from: FSU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, NC State, Boston College, Purdue, North Carolina, Ohio State, USF, FAU, UCF, Pittsburg and West Virginia

UF, FSU and Miami rounded off the top 3 schools for the Clearwater Central Catholic rsining senior, “It’s been my childhood dream to be a Gator. When Coach Muschamp extended the offer, it was only a matter of time till I committed.”

As any prospect, Reed had a shoulder to lean on when going through this process. He credits his dad for helping him along the way, “My father, he has always been there with big decisions in my life and he and I both felt that this was the right move.”
