PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING

A Walton grows in Seminole

Brandon WaltonWell, what do we have here? Seminole’s Brandon Walton earned some pretty high praises from several of the coaches yesterday. The 2016 OL from Pinellas County measured in at just shy of 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds. Although he didn’t earn MVP honors, one of the coaches drew some comparisons to this past year’s #1 OT Martez

Ivey citing their similar frames. Ivey finished his career at Apopka measuring at 6-6, 271 pounds. Although the numbers don’t match exactly with Walton standing a full inch shorter and weighing almost 15 pounds heavier, take one look at Walton and it would take you 100 guesses to come to his total weight. Coincidentally, he is the identical size to the nation’s leading OL in terms of offers in Parker Boudreaux out of Bishop Moore in Orlando. Meaning?

Well most of this means little (for now) but when you add the perspective that Walton’s FRAME reminded the coach of what Ivey looked like entering his junior season, (the year he became known to the entire world essentially) that is something Walton and the Warhawks program can definitely work with. It also means that guys that are on Seminole’s Roster looking for chances to play at the next level, now is the time to step your game (and your grades) up. Coaches from all levels will be arriving at your school, and soon. – Doug Pugh
