ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — It was a night to remember. The scene was right and the stars were bright. In a pivotal 5A-8 district match up. Zephyrhills and River Ridge dazzled the stadium in a contest littered with big plays.

Zephyrhills QB Charles Harrison III put his team on his back. Accounting for 4 passing TDs,  1 rushing TD, 337 passing yards and 80 rushing yards.

Zephyrhills senior RB Elijah Thomas started the action with an 81-yard TD run on the Bulldogs first offensive play from scrimmage. River Ridge ATH Mikey Roussos countered with a 78-yard kickoff return for a TD.

The teams would exchange scores throughout the half with River Ridge entering the Locker room up by 10. Self inflicting penalties negated two Bulldog scores which would have had them winning entering halftime.

Columbia commit, Mikey Roussos rushed for a career-high 131 yards and 3 TDs. Did much of his damage taking direct snaps for River Ridge. Also added an interception. But Charles Harrison III took the ball on what would eventually be the game winning drive scrambling out of danger for two big runs. The second being the game winning 23 yard touchdown run. Final Zephyrhills 38, River Ridge 35
