UPDATE: Zach Benjamin offered by Toledo & UMass

UPDATE  2:45 p.m. – Zach Benjamin picked up his second offer of the day, a few hours after receiving his first. UMass extended him a verbal offer, he said in a Tweet and confirmed in a text.

Tampa Catholic WR Zach Benjamin picked up his first offer today, from Toledo he confirmed in a 12:30 text message.

“It’s real exciting to finally pull one in and knowing that all the hard work has paid off,” Benjamin said of receiving his first offer. “I’m feeling really blessed right now.”

First reported, and confirmed, by head coach Bob Henriquez to a number of media outlets, Benjamin was not aware of the offer until he spoke with the coaching staff.

The 6-foot 5-inch talented wide receiver’s first offer has been a long time coming. After dominating the 2012 Ignite Combine Benjamin was invited to play on Team Tampa (7-on-7), composed of some of the top-area players.

Additionally, Benjamin has dominated the combine circuit this offseason winning numerous MVPs across the state. He has seen increased attention from Iowa State, Miami and Tulane . UMass, in addition to Toledo, have stopped by practice to see Benjamin work. He has also been invited to Tulane, Toledo, Cincinnati and Arkansas State camps.
