Kyle Ploucher has been a blessing for Tampa Catholic. Not so much for what he will likely do for the Tampa Catholic offense, but what Mitchell Norden will be asked to do if he is not the starting QB.
Norden is not a big name, but is highly valuable to the Crusader team. Just as an observation, TC is in need of a solid, unselfish TE. Norden can play there. A fullback may also be a need TC will have to fill. Norden can play there also. Right now, Norden serves as the all-purpose player. He knows the playbook inside and out and is not worried about his own stats, but the good of the team. Expect a very productive season for Mitchell Norden, who will become a player TC will depend on throughout the 2012 season.
TJ Harrell and Tre Watson will make for one of the best outside LB duos in the Bay. Mirror images of each other, both players are very athletic and aggressive.
Corey Martinez, Dominic Bourne and Christian Freeman are as good as they come. The three will anchor a very big offensive line, which will protect either QB and open holes for the run game.
Tampa Catholic lost all three running backs from last season. All transferred to other Hillsborough County schools. The defensive line is not as big as last season and there does not seem to be a game changer upfront like 2012 graduate, Taylor Timmons.
Kenny Bryant, Wiregrass transfer is taking most of the running back reps along with 2014 prospect TJ Harrell. Bryant needs to be a factor and make plays for the Crusaders in order for the offense to effectively run.
