The Wildcats are 2-0 and they just earned one of their biggest wins in years with a 20-9 statement win over county rival South Sumter. It was Wildwood’s first regular-season win against the Raiders since 1990. Wildwood has a couple more big games on the schedule with matchups scheduled against Trinity Catholic and The Villages. They are once again a team to keep an eye on in 1A. They have a big-time quarterback and a depth chart full of explosive athletes. Here is a quick look at their top performers so far this season after two games.
2025 Jonathan “Jon-Jon” Harding 6’3” 180 lbs – The big-time freshman has completed 28 out of 45 passes (62%) for 377 yards and 4 touchdowns.
2023 ATH Vincent Brown Jr. 5’7” 150 lbs – Brown has 111 rushing yards, 43 receiving yards, and 1 rushing touchdown on 11 touches in two games.
2023 LB Jawarren Corbin 6’1” 230 lbs – The first play on his highlight against South Sumter is guaranteed to get you fired up. This kid is physical, tough, and moves with a purpose. He has 17 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 1 sack.
2023 ATH Jeremiah Colebrooks 5’11” 158 lbs – Colebrooks brings experience and production to both sides of the ball. He is a versatile athlete. Wildwood is doing a great job of putting athletes in position to be successful. Jeremiah has 9 carries for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. From lining up at defensive end, he has 12 total tackles and 4 sacks. You don’t see many RB/DE type kids. He has the ability to excel at both.
2023 LB Ricky Harding 6’ 170 lbs – Ricky has great speed and an excellent motor. He has been very disruptive early on with 11 tackles and 3 tackles for loss.
2022 LB/S Omari Smith 6’ 175 lbs – The athletic defender currently has 17 total tackles and 1 sack.
2025 ATH Vernell Brown III 5’8” 135 lbs – Brown is another freshman with a very bright future. He has 103 yards and 1 touchdown in the first two games.
