What’s in the stable for Steinbrenner

Curtis Fitch_Steinbrenner

Steinbrenner Class of 2014 will be highlighted by ATH Shyheem Barthel, RB/OLB. Barthel hasn’t played many years of football so he is raw but has improved greatly from his sophomore to junior season and is working hard this off-season.

Athletic-wise the 2013 season may present Steinbrenner with their biggest challenge since the first year, 2009. Rebuilding a depleted offensive line and defensive line will be first on the checklist because so many seniors will be graduating (27 lost from 2012 team).

RB Jake Carroll and QB Curtis Fitch return with experience and leadership, but Shyheem is expected to be the bright spot on the upcoming 2013 season team and get tons more carries/receptions while also playing 50% or more of plays too.

Jake Carroll RB/Returner will be a potential recruit for 2014 Steinbrenner class (if Jake can get fully back from the ACL injury in 2011 Gaither game, Jake was only 75-80% in 2012). Jake as a freshman was the fastest track sprinter in all of Steinbrenner before the ACL injury in Fall season of his Sophomore year. Fingers crossed he will make it all the way back, he is running track again so we will soon know if his blazing speed is back.
