IN NINTH ANNUAL UNDER ARMOUR ALL-AMERICA GAME

Dominant Defense Leads the Way for Team Highlight in Victory

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 2, 2016) – The nation’s premier high school football players were once again on display today at the Orlando Citrus Bowl as Team Highlight downed Team Armour 27-0 in the ninth annual Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance. A crowd of 24,186 witnessed the first shutout in the history of the Under Armour All-America Game.

Late in the first quarter, a dropped punt by Team Armour deep in their territory was recovered by Team Highlight. Malik Henry of Long Beach, Calif. (Long Beach Polytechnic) capitalized on the turnover by connecting with local star Eddie McDoom of Winter Garden, Fla. (West Orange) on the following play for a 12-yard touchdown. Henry, a Florida State commit, completed 9 of his game-high 12 attempts for 75 yards and two touchdowns.

The highlight of the day came when Miami (Fla.) commit Dionte Mullins of Miami (Gulliver Prep) hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from fellow Hurricanes commit Jack Allison of Palmetto, Fla. (Palmetto High School). With a defender draped on his back in the end zone, Mullins snagged Allison’s pass with an acrobatic one-handed catch to extend Team Highlight’s lead to 17-0 going into halftime. Allison finished 3 of 7 passing for a game-high 83 yards.

Team Highlight’s defense was anchored by a dominant defensive line that combined for six sacks on the day and allowed just 34 yards rushing. ESPN 300 No. 1 overall recruit and Team Highlight MVP, Rashan Gary of Paramus, N.J. (Paramus Catholic), led the way for Team Highlight’s defense with three sacks that tied an All-America Game record and a team-high six tackles. Not to be outdone, ESPN 300 No. 4 overall recruit Ed Oliver of Houston (Westfield) posted five tackles, including two for a loss, and took home Team Armour MVP honors.

Other game highlights included Team Highlight’s Eric Cuffee of Waco, Texas (Waco) wrestling the ball away from Team Armour’s Joshua Hammond of Hallandale Beach (Hallandale) for a 41-yard interception and Team Armour’s Tino Ellis of Hyattsville, Md. (DeMatha) hauling in a 51-yard pass from quarterback Matt Fink of Glendora, Calif. (Glendora).

Finally, five Under Armour All-Americans announced their college commitments during the game:

· Jean Delance (OT), North Mesquite High School (Mesquite, Texas) – University of Texas

· Rahshaun Smith (OLB), IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) – Clemson University
