BAY AREA BITES

USF football announces 16 new walk-ons including a handful of former Bay area players

from Greg Auman‘s USF Sports Bulletin

USF coach Skip Holtz selected the 16 from a group of about 60 that participated in the first two days of practice after taking part in an open tryout process on campus. Once the new recruits and preferred walk-ons arrive on campus this fall, only a handful of the new names might be able to land spots on the Bulls’ 105-man roster for two-a-days in August.

The rest of the new additions: defensive backs Allen Singleton (Ocala Forest), Ernie Tabuteau (North Miami), Andrew Laughery (Pinellas Park),  receivers Clinton Jones (Fort Lauderdale Ely) and John Toston (Dunedin), offensive linemen Nathan Marvel (Plant) and Brandon Gengler (Lakeland Kathleen), fullback Justin Wilcox (Freedom), linebacker Kalin Hall (Sarasota Bayshore), defensive end Victor Sanchez (Boca Ciega), kicker Ian Kitchell (Palmetto) and long-snapper Archibald Ryan (Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna).

Can anyone update us on former Plant Panther Marvel?   He is listed here as an offensive lineman?   Congratulations to all of the Bay area players that have earned the right to keep practicing with the Bulls and keep grinding.
