Unknown 8: Sleeper Prospects

Across the Bay, there are several 2013 prospects that are early verbal commit to college football programs or have several scholarship offers. On the outside looking in are a ton of prospects hoping to receive attention and scholarship offers from any college or university.

Below are our “UNKNOWN 8” sleeper 2013 players (Tampa Bay not limited to the players listed below), who we believe should have several scholarship offers, but have very few, to none at all.

Eric Hampsen, Pinellas Park 2013 OT
The lack of attention on this OT is disappointing. He has awesome feet and has made tremendous strides since his junior season. He is 6-5/270lbs and can get to the second level of the defense in a hurry. We were so impressed with his ability, that emails were sent to college coaches as soon as his 2012 hilites were available.

Karel Hamilton, Strawberry Crest 2013 WR
New school ATH has dominated. Not just this year, but for the last two years running. Hamilton is not flashy and not super fast. He just makes super plays and gives his team a chance to win any time the ball is thrown in his direction. 6-2 and athletic, Hamilton displays a winning attitude and thirst for success.

DeAndre James, Blake 2013 RB
Fast, fast and faster. If James would have had recruiters attention as a sophomore or junior, he would easily be a BCS prospect. He has great lateral movement and straight ahead speed. He hits the hole like a rocket and can out run the secondary.

Caleb McCullough, Boca Ciega 2013 ATH
Does everything! Shifty RB, quality cover corner and extremely athletic prospect. McCullough is not the biggest prospect, but makes big plays.

Jamarlon Hamilton, Durant 2013 RB
The Bus! Just flat out productive. Not much else you can say except, he can out run defenders, run over defenders and run past defenders. He is almost guaranteed to run for 100 yards each Friday night and is the workhorse for Durant.

Brandon Byrd, East Bay 2013 RB
6-1 RB with a similar running style to Florida Gator freshman RB Matt Jones. He can catch the ball out the backfield, real deal down field speed and tough between the tackles.

Rock Enos, Wharton 2013 LB
One of the best LBs in the Tampa bay area. Pure football player and a desire to dominate on game day. During the Chamberlain game, he absolutely took over; One man wrecking crew.

Jaronte Norton, Middleton 2013 DE
Probably the most upside of all the prospect listed here. 6-3, athletic DE that can chase down QBs and ball carriers and whip offensive tackles at the line of scrimmage.

EXTRA 9
Juwan Brown, Largo 2013 QB
Does not belong in the UNKNOWN category, but is highly under recruited. Special players don’t come often and Brown reminds so much of Quentin Williams, former Jefferson QB who led his team to a 15-0 season and a state 3A title. Juwan has the same pedigree.
