PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING SPRING CAPSULES

Treasure Hunt: Boca Ciega Pirate Invasion

In a Short period of time, it was evident that the emphasis at Boca Ciega was Tempo and repetition. New head coach Max Smith pressed his team to get better by understanding the importance of each rep. Smith, was the head coach at Dunedin in 2011 and 2012 taking the Falcons from a 2-8 2010 season under Jack Benson
to 4-6 in 2011 and 6-4 in 2012.

The Pirates will depend heavy on the playmaking ability of their QB DJ Cook. An undersized athlete that provides the offense with dynamic playmaking ability and a rocket arm to deliver the ball to the playmakers: Kenyatta Anderson, Wayne Watson and Nate Roberts. Anderson is likely the team’s best player. Can play several different positions and produce at all of them.

Avery Davis and Raeshon Dunbar will be huge defensively. Davis is a man-child at defensive tackles. Standing 6-1/300, the big man was virtually unstoppable yesterday. Along side of him was first year football player, Raeshon Dunbar. Dunbar is a basketball player (6-5/230) training at TE and DE. The kid is super athletic and has no clue at what he is doing just yet. But wait until he gets coached, understands each position and his responsibility, this kid could be the highlight of the season.
