Tracy Johnson, doing it again

No surprise here as the 2012 Spartans prepared for the 2012 season over the summer entering several passing tournaments (including to BCP 9 Route 7 on 7 tournament AGAIN), conditioning in the summer sun and grinding in a weight room. So 7-0 is not unexpected to the Spartans as they busted their tails all spring and summer to reap the rewards of the labor.

Head football coach, Cory Moore made a big effort to improve as a head football coach and to improve his staff at the same time. However, 2013 QB, Tracy Johnson is the oil that gets the Lakewood fire burning.

The senior leader has embraced his role and has driven the Spartans to a 7-0 start and put them in a position to win the 5A-8 district title. Johnson is 13-4 as a starter and is on pace to another 2000 yard (passing) season.

Recruiting is not moving as fast as we would have expected for the senior QB. Currently he holds a single offer from FAU. More focused on his senior season, than recruiting, Johnson says “I’m enjoying it [recruiting] to the best of my ability”. Showing interest: Florida Atlantic, Houston, Georgetown and Middle Tennessee St.

Something good will happen for Johnson. Whether it be, a district title, state championship or a scholarship to the school of his choice. We don’t know. But, what we do know is, Johnson is a solid recruit because he is a athlete playing quarterback and has shown he can lead and carry a team.
