Top Tier All American Tryouts, Tampa, Florida

The 2nd Annual Top Tier All American Tryouts, for football special teams specialists, is completing their U.S. tour this weekend in Colorado August 10th. The 2nd Top Tier All American Tryouts and Camp took place in Tampa Florida at Carrollwood Day School on July 28th and 29th in which a very talented group competed for a spot on the Top Tier All American Watch list.

The annual event gives football kickers, punters and long snappers a chance to prove they deserve to be placed on the “Top Tier All American Watch List”. Their performance in the 2013 football season will then determine who is selected to be honored as Top Tier All Americans.

Two returning Top Tier All American Winners from the 2012 season, Stephen Yaffe, of Carrollwood Day School and Sterling Hofrichter of Armwood High School were in the field of competitors, and both continued their domination of their respective class.

The most notable performances during the two-day long testing which included every aspect of kicking and punting and long snapping, were as follows:

Competing in the Graduating Class of 2014:

Brandon Stage of Riverview High School, top overall in field goals, followed by Lucas Jose of Bloomingdale High School (tied with) Rhett Waldron of Jesuit High School.

Sean Young of Admiral Farragut High School was the outstanding punter of the entire field. Caleb Winter (Grace Christian) and Nathan Binder (Hudson) and Brandon Stage led the field in Kick offs.

Garrett Thomason (St. Petersburg High School) was the top Long Snapper in the camp.

Brandon Fields of Wekiva H.S. was the runner up in Long and Short Snaps

Competing in the Graduating Class of 2015:

Daniel LaCamera of East Lake High School went 10 for 10 in field goals on the first day followed by Sterling Hofrichter (Armwood H.S. ) and Brandon Torres (Clewiston H.S.) who were 9 for 10.

Sterling Hofrichter also took all honors with the highest overall average in Kick offs followed by Ryan Feely (Leon High School) Hofrichter and LaCamera were also the two best punters in their class.

Competing in the Graduating Class of 2016:

Stephen Yaffe (Carrollwood Day School) took all honors for field goals, kick offs and punting. Gavin Haag (Berkeley Prep) put in a solid performance on Day 2.

Competing in the Graduating Class of 2017:

Jeffrey Guttentag (Berkeley Prep) led the field in both field goals and kick offs followed by Camden Bouman (Jesuit High School) and Bouman also took honors for punting for his class.
