1. Three 1,000 yard RBs averaged over 10 yards per rush in 2011 season for the 58 Pinellas and Hillsborough High Schools.

– 13.3 yds/rush, Robert Davis (2013), CDS, 138 rushes, 1832 rushing yds

– 10.5 yds/rush, Eric Moate (2013), Spoto, 108 rushes, 1138 rushing yds

– 10.1 yds/rush, Brent O’Neal (2012), Canterbury, 192 rushes, 1939 rushing yds

Top Two are returning for their senior seasons!

 

2. Five QBs averaged over 10 yards per attempt with more than 150 passes.

– 11.1 yds/att, Deiondre Porter (2014), Jefferson, 167 attempts, 1890 passing yds

– 11.0 yds/att, Tracy Johnson (2013), Lakewood, 183 attempts, 2015 passing yds

– 10.7 yds/att, Bennie Coney (2012), Plant City, 214 attempts, 2297 passing yds

– 10.4 yds/att, Louie Pappas (2012), Tarpon Spring, 222 attempts, 2300 passing yds

– 10.2 yds/att, James Few (2012), Plant, 246 attempts, 2513 passing yds

Again Top Two are returning in 2012!

 

3. Sophomore and Junior WRs had the most receiving yardage.

– 1158 yards, Artavis Scott (2014), East Lake

– 1021 yards, Kenyatta Merriex (2013), Tarpon Spring

Can they both do it again next season?

 

4. Five QBs had over 60% completion percentage with more than 150 passing attempts.

– 67.7% PCT, Pete DiNovo (2013), East Lake, 251 Attempts

– 65.0% PCT, James Few (2012), Plant, 246 Attempts

– 64.6% PCT, Tommy Eveld (2012), Jesuit, 246 Attempts

– 64.0% PCT, Louie Pappas (2012), Tarpon Spring, 222 Attempts

– 61.1% PCT, Deiondre Porter (2014), Jefferson, 167 Attempts

 

DiNovo increased his PCT from 54.4% on 171 attempts in 2010 to completing over 2/3 (67.7%) of his 251 passes in 2011; the sky is the limit in 2012.

 

5. Three RBs had 25 or more rushing TDs.

– 28 Rush TDs, Nelson Agholor (2012), Berkeley Prep

– 25 Rush TDs, Brent O’Neal (2012), Canterbury

– 25 Rush TDs, Robert Davis (2013), CDS

It a good bet that Davis will amaze again in 2012.

 

6. Four QBs had 25 or more passing TDs.

– 30 Passing TDs, Bennie Coney (2012), Plant City

– 30 Passing TDs, Casey Woods (2012), IRC

– 29 Passing TDs, James Few (2012), Plant

– 25 Passing TDs, Phillip Johnson (2013), Cambridge Christian

Johnson also passed for over 2,000 yds and helped his team average 38 points/game; looks like more fireworks in 2A again next season.

 

7. Four teams had more than a positive 20 point differential.

– 28.3 Points, Armwood (15-0)

– 26.6 Points, Berkeley Prep (12-1)

– 23.7 Points, Plant (14-1)

– 23.4 Points, Countryside (10-1)

Combined record is 51-3.

 

8. Eight teams averaged more than 150 yards both in rushing and passing.

– Plant (14-1), 207.3 rushing yards, 196.1 passing yards

– Plant City (7-3), 152.4 rushing yards, 235.7 passing yards

– Cambridge Christian (6-4), 158.4 rushing yards, 223.1 passing yards

– Countryside (10-1), 200.1 rushing yards, 176.5 passing yards

– East Lake (9-4), 183.3 rushing yards, 186.6 passing yards

– Wharton (5-6), 175.0 rushing yards, 176.5 passing yards

– Jesuit (11-2), 153.0 rushing yards, 185.8 passing yards

– IRC (6-4), 184.8 rushing yards, 152.8 passing yards

Five of these teams made playoffs, three made it to 3rd round and one brought home the gold.

 

9. Two of the four teams that had 5-5 regular season records made the playoffs.
