Another successful Boot Camp Kick/Punt/Snap Training Camp this past Sunday. Participants showed up wanted to learn something new that would help them become better place kickers, punters and snappers. The kids absorb 5 hours of activity and coaching, dodging rain throughout the event. At the conclusion, several kickers and snapper stood out. Below are the ones the coaches highlighted.

PUNTERS AND PLACE KICKERS

ZACHARY FEDDELER, LAKELAND 2015 – Punter MVP was very consistent all camp long. Took coaching extremely well and picked up on new techniques quickly. Zach showed a powerful leg for distance and good touch with pouch kicks and directional kicks.

JOSE LUCAS, 2014 – Place kicker MVP, won the same award last year at the same event and did the exact same thing…showed accuracy. One year removed from Bloomingdale high school, Lucas seems to have picked up where he left off. He was the man during the field goal head to head competition with depth, velocity and accuracy.

HEATH GRADY, FREEDOM 2015 – Huge leg as a punter and kickoff king. Developing as a field goal kicker but has all the tools to master the skills for each kick. His power was impressive, but his adaptability was even better.

COREY HOBSON, GAITHER 2015 – Was one of the three nominees by the kicking coaches as possible MVP. Not because of dominance, because of how his day evolved and continued to improve after implementing tip from the coaches. They raved about his willingness to be coached and loved how he got better as the camp progressed.

Coaches also really liked:
CHRIS WILKINSON, SUNLAKE 2015

AUSTIN COBB, NEWSOME 2015

SNAPPERS

CODY JOHNSON, TAMPA BAY TECH 2015 – “It starts with the snap!” special teams coaches say it until the cows come home and the saying is so true. Johnson proved that a good snapper makes everything else so simple. A combination of strength, velocity and accuracy made Cody the snapper MVP and he won the competition by a good margin.

JAYKOB HAFER, LENNARD 2015 – Very strong! Snapped the ball back to the holder and punter like a Sunday breakfast biscuit. Had really good power for deep snaps and showed good technique.
