Titans Benjamin pledges to Strong and Cardinals

Richard Benjamin, Tampa Bay Tech 2013 ATH

This evening, Tampa Bay Tech 2013 ATH Ricard Benjamin committed to Louisville. After committing to Central Florida in mid July of 2012 and then decommitting from the Knights in late August, Benjamin reopened his recruitment and eventually felt as though Louisville is the school for him.

It came down to Ohio State, West Virginia, South Florida and LOUISVILLE. “The staff [Why pick Louisville] and the style of coaching and Coach Strong is real and i’ll play,” said Benjamin.

Louisville recruited Benjamin as a ATH because of his size and ability. This year, he rushed for 718 yards, averaging 6.97 yards per rush and 6 rush TDs. He caught 35 passed for 509 yards, 5 receiving TDs, 26 total tackles and 4 INTs

Why the decommit from UCF? “I decommitted from UCF because I just wanted to look over things and make sure it was a good fit for me”. Benjamin said his biggest influences and supporters during this process were God, his mother and head football coach. “They just told me to make sure it’s where I want to go and told me it’s a nice fit because the coaches are real and loyal and they like that”.

Richard Benjamin is BCP’s 10th ranked player and #2 ranked ATH entering the 2012 season.
